Sponsored by Quicken Loans with input from Tom Dempsey, divisional vice president of National Sales for Quicken Loans, the webinar broke down strategic ways brokers could improve their business—from sys- tems and processes to employee outings. "There's no shortage of things that we as brokers can do for our agents," said Workman. Below are a few takeaways: Organize and Execute. "If you ac- tually execute what you put on your calendar, you will see a difference," said Workman. Create a system with your team to organize their task lists and goals, and then execute them. Holding each other account- able can improve results like noth- ing else. Build Your "A" Team. "Having the right people on the bus is every- thing," said Hetherington. When building your team out, he suggests looking for excellent leaders instead of excellent real estate providers. You can teach a great leader how to succeed, but it's harder to teach someone to be a great leader. Stay Relevant. Are you relevant in today's market? Are you bringing value to the table? Is your company focus something your agents actu- ally believe in? If not, you need to reevaluate. "We can't succeed in a vacuum," said Hetherington. Listen to your agents, listen to your compe- tition, and make sure you're on the leading edge to achieve success. Build Stronger Relationships. "Leadership is not what you do to someone; it's what you do for someone," said Dempsey. Heth- erington agrees: "It's the relation- ships that really make it." Build your relationships by staying in tune with your entire team. Hold an office retreat or an afternoon out- ing to build bonds and stay strong. And, adds Dempsey, ask for feed- back and listen. When you're plan- ning for the future, Dempsey notes that "getting feedback from your doers is important." Focus on Culture. This goes hand-in- hand with the above points. "We get everyone involved," said Hethering- ton. Your company culture dictates how your organization will operate.
