RISMedia's REAL ESTATE August 2019 95 {Blog Spot} Despite the growth real estate has showcased in the past few years, one of the biggest challenges agents and brokers still face is mar- keting—and one of the most popu- lar methods involving direct market- ing is a newsletter. Here are five tips that should help you create an effective and engag- ing real estate newsletter: Use Excellent Images When you're working on a real es- tate newsletter, it's important to have engaging images of the prop- erty you're planning to talk about. Your audience is interested in rel- evant visuals along with the content you're planning for the newsletter. Keep the copy short and work on getting visually appealing images. Talk About the Real Estate Market Talking about your business should come effortlessly to you; however, you need to remember that your aim is to convert readers into prop- erty owners. For this, the message should be simple and clear. Make the focus of your newsletter all about the property you want to talk about instead of your business. Draw Them in With a Strong Subject Line Make sure you include a strong and relevant subject line as part of the newsletter. It should help the sub- scriber understand what the news- letter is about and make them want to read it. The copy in the subject line should be concise. As a general rule of thumb, subscribers should be able to view the entire subject line on their mobile devices. Always Include Contact Information It's crucial to include your contact information as part of your newslet- ter should subscribers wish to reach out to you. Make it easy for them to get in touch with you by adding your email address, as well as other so- cial contact information. Compel Them to Take Action The aim of a newsletter is to en- courage subscribers to take an ac- tion that's in sync with your goals. They should either connect with you, go to your blog or website, or reach out to their friends with some infor- mation. A call-to-action button and links should be clearly visible. If you plan on creating a newsletter campaign for your real estate busi- ness, you need to remember that first impressions matter. Always start with concise content, bright and visually appealing images and a strong subject line to ensure good audience engagement. RE Kevin George is the head of Marketing at EmailMonks.
