Now working as COO in tan- dem with Metro Brokers' CEO, Kevin Levent, McClel- land oversees all aspects of the brokerage's day-to-day op- erations, leading the strate- gic direction of the company. McClelland has reshaped the company's communications across the organization, refin- ing how agents engage with their clients and streamlining internal processes. McClelland's accomplish- ments include being a top REALTOR® in Atlanta and growing a small, independent brokerage to over 20 offices with 1,100 agents. He is deeply entrenched in the RE- ALTOR® community as a regu- lar news contributor; a board member for Homesnap JV, the Broker Public Portal and BryteCore; and an investor and advisor to several tech- nology companies, including Zillow Instant Offers—ce- menting his role as a valu- able and influential thought leader in the industry. As CIO for HomeServices of America, ALON CHAVER is responsible for technology, information management, strategic planning, business development and consumer experience. He ensures that technology plays an integral role for the firm, but in a re - sponsible way. "We're continu- ing to develop our platform so that it integrates best-in-class technology into a coherent service experience," he says. "We're also leveraging a lot of deep learning, advanced AI and analytics to provide the right data to our consumers, agents and tech vendors so they can interoperate and co- operate better." In his role as chief industry development officer at Zillow Group, ERROL SAMUEL- SON oversees the company's industry relations strategy, business-to-business tools and product development. Samuelson has been a key player in the development and introduction of the Zillow Offers program, and is largely responsible for increasing exposure for Canadian real estate professionals' list- ings, by encouraging agents to advertise properties on Zil- low. He is also involved with Bridge Interactive and Dot- loop. Under his leadership, both companies have grown significantly. JON COILE is CEO of Cham- pion Realty, with seven offic- es and 200 agents working in four counties in Maryland. Coile also serves as chair - man of the board of Bright- MLS, where a recent merger brought together 43 local REALTOR® association share- holders, which required the combination of unique data- bases from nine MLS organi- zations. "The national portals and new models coming into real estate don't have the artificial borders that we've created for ourselves," says Coile. "We need to tear down these barriers and compete on an even playing field." Philosopher, speaker, writer and photographer MATTHEW FERRARA is inspiring the leadership, innovation, cre- ativity and success of the real estate community. Originally setting out to be a chemist, Ferrara ended up falling in love with real estate. In the three decades since, Ferr- ara's goal has been to inspire the brokerage community with best practices, creative ideas and mentorship, at events and retreats. "Always remem- ber that you do noble work; that what you do matters; that you make a difference. Your success starts by believing you're worth it, because you are," says Ferrara. As 2019 president of the National Association of RE - ALTORS®, JOHN SMABY will lead the 1.3 million-member organization into the year ahead. He has outlined five strategic priorities for 2019: advancing member and con - sumer communications; re- doubling efforts in advocacy and regulatory monitoring; heightening NAR's role as a steward of data; enhancing the member experience; and tackling affordability and sup- ply issues. "Every member of the REALTOR® community has their own stories of the work they've done to help build and strengthen commu- nities nationwide." JOHN PEYTON , president and CEO of the Realogy Fran- chise Group, is responsible for managing RFG's portfolio of leading real estate fran- chise brands, including Better Homes and Gardens® Real Estate, CENTURY 21®, Cold- well Banker®, Coldwell Banker Commercial®, ERA and So- theby's International Real- ty®—over 15,000 franchised offices and approximately 289,000 brokers and inde- pendent sales associates combined doing business in 117 countries and territories worldwide.
